About the Role
and our Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an exceptional candidate to develop our Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) data and systems. Their duties will include:
1. Maintain, update and develop our pensions administration software (inc. process maps and workflows)
2. Testing and delivering software updates/upgrades alongside our software supplier
3. Preparing data extracts and statistics, processing bulk returns (annual returns, etc)
4. Helping to deliver annual projects (applying pension increase, producing annual benefit statements, etc)
5. Data investigation and error resolution.
Will consider applications based on full-time remote working and so there is no requirement for you to be locally based.
You will have a minimum of 2 years of administering the Local Government Pension Scheme (or equivalent Defined Benefit Pension Scheme) and relevant legislation/regulations.
6. You will have experience maintaining a pensions administration system (Civica UPM or equivalent).
7. You should be able to demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and the ability to spot inconsistencies and errors in numerical information.
8. You should also be able to evidence your ability to prioritise your workload and work to deadlines
9. You should be someone who can thrive by working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
10. You will be expected to train and mentor junior team members.
11. Experience of SQL to interrogate the database would be an advantage, but not essential.
About Us
The shared pensions administration service for Sutton Council and Kingston Council was formed on 1 April to provide the administration of LGPS for both Funds. Combined, the Funds have a total membership of circa 30, and in excess of scheme employers. There is a team of 23 staff (24 including this post).
