Your new role
We are seeking a Temporary IT Technician to join our on‑site IT team based at our Knowsley site. You’ll be part of a close‑knit team, with additional support from a wider team.In this role, you will provide 1st and 2nd line technical support, assisting staff and students with hardware, software, and general IT queries. You will support a range of systems including Microsoft 365, Active Directory, SharePoint, and other Microsoft technologies, with opportunities to work with specialist education‑based tools.Your core work pattern will be 36 hours per week:
The interim role is to start ASAP
Mon–Thurs: 08:30–17:00 (1‑hour break)
Fri: 08:30–16:30 (1 hour break)
You will also MAY participate in a rolling rota to cover occasional late shifts up to 19:00 for adult learner support.
You may be required to travel to and work from other locations across Knowsley and St Helens as needed.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing 1st & 2nd line IT support in accordance with SLAs
2. Troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and user issues
3. Logging and managing helpdesk tickets
4. Maintaining high standards of customer service
5. Supporting the development and implementation of robust IT processes
6. Ensuring adherence to IT security principles
7. Participating in enrolment activities and occasional off‑site work
8. Keeping up to date with relevant ICT training and development
What you'll need to succeed

9. Experience working in an IT support (Education desirable)

15. DBS clearance (on appointment)
