Ivybridge Brewing Company CIC – People and Sales Lead
What we do
Our vision is to help create a world where individuals with learning disabilities and autism are valued in the
workplace and by society in general.
Founded in 2018, Ivybridge Brewing Company (IBC) is a Community Interest Company that provides work
and training for adults with learning disabilities and autism. IBC is a unique place to work (you may have
seen us on ITV News recently): we have an enthusiastic, diverse team, a growing income, a measurable
positive impact on the lives of the people we employ, and a bright future ahead. We also make great beer!
We have recently expanded our footprint in the centre of Ivybridge, adding a new taproom and retail space
and expanding our brewing capacity. We are now looking to add a new member to our team to help us
consolidate our training provision and grow our income and social impact.
The Role
The People and Sales Lead will work closely with our CEO, Brewery and Taproom Leads to help us to
maximise the experience of our trainees and build new income streams.
This is an exciting and diverse role:
you will mentor and inspire our team of trainees as well as running and developing new sales channels; you
will also need to have a ‘sleeves rolled-up’ attitude and help with day-to-day challenges. Most importantly,
you will need to prioritise the interests of trainees, ensuring that they gain a high-quality experience at the
brewery that prepares them for work in the future (either at IBC or another employer).
Working hours: 24 pw
Starting salary £27,040-28,080 pro rata (£16,224-£16,848)
One-year fixed term in the first instance with a three-month probationary period.
Key responsibilities and duties
• Supporting and recruiting our trainees by overseeing their ‘learner journeys’ and mentoring them to
ensure that they get the most from their time with us. You will also act as a point of contact with
parents and carers and oversee their work roster.
• Work alongside our Taproom Lead to ensure that we maximise our social impact and income from
this important part of our activity. This will include running extra taproom shifts, providing cover
where necessary and helping organise events.
• Set up and run additional external events (e.g. market attendance, tastings) and embed our trainees
in these activities.
• Help build up our retail sales (business to business and business to customer), including customer
liaison and deliveries.
• Help us to develop training programmes and an internal certification system.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and raise awareness of our inclusive approach with other
employers.
• Support the development of our social impact measures and Theory of Change.
• Undertake any additional tasks that may be requested from time-to-time consistent with the nature
and scope of this role.
