Senior Oracle DeveloperLocation: GlasgowWorking Pattern: Hybrid, 2 to 3 days per week onsiteClient: Financial ServicesDuration: 01 July 2026 to December 2026Rate: Up to £300 per day inside IR35Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain Oracle database solutions. Develop and enhance Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code, including stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, and views. Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into robust database solutions. Support the maintenance and improvement of existing Oracle-based applications and data processes. investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve database and application-related issues. Perform SQL query optimisation and database performance tuning. Support data migration, data cleansing, and data transformation activities where required. Work closely with business analysts, developers, testers, infrastructure teams, and project stakeholders. Produce and maintain technical documentation, including design notes, support documentation, and code specifications. Ensure development work follows agreed standards, governance, and change control processes. Support testing, defect resolution, release activities, and production implementation. Provide technical guidance and support to other members of the team where required.Essential Skills and Experience Strong commercial experience as an Oracle Developer or Senior Oracle Developer. Excellent Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development skills. Experience developing stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, views, and complex queries. Strong understanding of relational database design and data modelling principles. Proven experience in performance tuning and query optimisation. Ability to analyse and troubleshoot complex database issues. Experience working with large-scale or business-critical systems. Good understanding of software development lifecycle practices. Experience working in structured project or service delivery environments. Strong communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned development tasks.Desirable Skills Experience working in public sector, financial services, education, or similarly regulated environments. Experience supporting legacy Oracle applications Knowledge of Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, Oracle APEX, ODI, or other Oracle development tools. Experience with Unix/Linux scripting. Experience with data migration, ETL, or batch processing. Experience using source control tools such as Git, SVN, or similar.
