About The Role

The Head of Change Delivery leads the Value Delivery Office (VDO) function, ensuring successful definition, delivery and reporting of FGH\'s portfolio and the projects within it. The role has line management responsibility of FGH colleagues within the Change Delivery function, including Project Manager, Business Analysts, PMO and Business Architects.

The role holder will play a significant role in delivering the projects within the portfolio, and by extension in enabling FGH to achieve its strategic objectives. The role holder will own and be accountable for the successful delivery of FGH\'s portfolio management and change delivery frameworks, tools, processes and artefacts. The fast moving and dynamic nature of the retail sector requires the role holder to operate with pace and flexibility whilst ensuring projects are delivered within a controlled and structured environment.

The role holder will also be responsible for leading the annual strategic planning process, supporting the Executive Management Team with the 3-year business planning activity, translating strategy and business plans into a portfolio of change projects and initiatives.


Accountabilities

Leadership:

* Effective line management of Change Delivery colleagues within the Value Delivery Office function (including Project Management, Business Analysis, Business Architecture, Project Management Office functional areas), providing leadership, change delivery subject matter expertise and mentoring to colleagues to develop and maintain a high performing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
* Foster a collaborative, proactive and dynamic/adaptable team culture, encouraging continuous learning and development.
* Ensure that all activity within the portfolio is aligned to FGH’s strategic objectives
* Ensure full visibility to FGH’s EMT on the progress of portfolio delivery in delivering against its objectives. Establish portfolio KPI’s to measure value derived and to track progress.
* Produce and manage a achievable Portfolio plan that has been assessed from a resourcing perspective.

Stakeholder Management

* Champion the Business Change function across FGH functions, communicating and promoting how Business Change adds value and enables delivery of FGH’s strategic objectives.

Reporting

* Establish and maintain accurate, timely and easily understandable reporting across projects, designed specifically to meet the needs of different audiences, including project teams and stakeholders, VDO core team, and the EMT / SLT membership.

Resource Management

* Ensure in-flight projects are appropriately resourced with business-wide resource management/tracking capability in place and maintained, ensuring resource risks and constraints are escalated into the Head of VDO, Steering Committees or EMT as appropriate.

Governance

* Ensure change delivery governance is in place and communicated across impacted stakeholder groups including Technology, Digital Experience, VDO Core Team members and other business stakeholders directly involved in project delivery.
* Ensure that project-level risks are identified, assessed and treated in line with FGH’s risk management policy. Ensure escalation of risks into the appropriate governance forum.


About You

* Solid commercial understanding of business and retailing, in order to communicate and promote the value add of the Change Delivery function
* Previous experience (min 5 years) within a similar Change Delivery leadership role in retail or a similar fast paced environment.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage effectively at all levels, both internally and with 3 parties.
* Management of cross-functional, multi-disciplined personnel (matrix), displaying leadership, motivational and coaching skills.


Technical Knowledge

* Strong planning, analytical and reporting skills, able to assimilate complex information and present recommendations.
* Strong awareness of business analysis and business change best practises.
* Confident and proficient in the application of structured project management methods, tools and techniques with a recognised PM qualification such as APMG Agile PM, APM Project Management, Prince 2.
