Enterprise Architect - Government Client

We're working with a government client seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead the design and integration of complex technical and business solutions across IT, HR, Estates, and more. This is a long-term contract role focused on shaping the organisation's future through robust architecture and strategic planning.
Location: Full-time on-site in Milton Keynes
️ Security Clearance: You will have to undergo DV clearance (can take ~12 months; you may work other roles during this time)
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Define and develop enterprise architecture, including As-Is, To-Be, and Target State models
2. Provide architectural assurance across portfolios, programmes, and projects
3. Align delivery with the organisation's Technology Strategy, Roadmaps, and Enterprise Architecture
4. Collaborate with engineering teams across the full lifecycle: design, implementation, testing, and operations
5. Identify and eliminate duplicate business capabilities across the organisation
6. Promote best practices and methodologies from across industry
Key Skills & Experience:
7. Deep understanding of architectural frameworks (. TOGAF, MODAF, DODAF, Zachman, UML, COBIT)
8. Proven experience in both Agile and Waterfall environments
9. Strong background in strategy, design, and integration at an enterprise scale
10. Skilled in stakeholder engagement, including reporting to programme directors and senior business partners
11. Experience working with external delivery partners and contractors
Desirable:
12. Familiarity with ITIL, PRINCE2, or PROSCI
13. Understanding of how solution changes impact business and technical outcomes
14. Awareness of strategic direction across both business and technology domains
