Join Our Advanced Clinical Practice Team – Shape the Future of Emergency Care Education.
Are you a passionate and experienced advanced practitioner in emergency or urgent care? We’re inviting you to bring your specialist expertise to our vibrant Advanced Clinical Practice team within the School of Education, Sport and Health Sciences.
We’re looking for a Lecturer with up-to-date, specialist knowledge in advanced practice and emergency/urgent care, backed by experience as a practitioner. If you’re ready to share your insights and inspire others, we want to hear from you. In this pivotal role, you’ll teach and mentor students enrolled in our MSc Advanced Clinical Practice programme and lead the post-registration Emergency Care modules. You’ll be at the heart of a dynamic, forward-thinking team committed to delivering exceptional education across our post-registration pathways.
Role
Our curriculum is designed to empower practitioners to evolve their roles and innovate within their fields. We pride ourselves on a collaborative philosophy—working closely with students, academics, researchers, service users, and healthcare partners to deliver high-impact learning grounded in the latest research and clinical practice. To be successful in this role you should have:
* Registration with the NMC or HCPC
* A relevant degree in a nursing, midwifery or allied health profession and have a higher degree in advanced practice/advanced clinical practice
* Hold a non-medical prescribing qualification
* Professional experience as an advanced practitioner
* A higher education teaching qualification and/or an HEA Fellowship, or willingness to undertake this within the first 12 months
* Up-to-date, sound knowledge of current developments in health including current clinical, professional, and policy developments and the range of generic skills required to teach advanced practice and urgent/emergency care.
* Have knowledge/experience of HEE/NHSE Advanced Clinical Practice multi-professional competencies/frameworks
* Experience of leading and implementing creative approaches to develop teaching and learning of advanced practice and urgent/emergency care related skills and knowledge in university and/or practice setting.
