We are seeking a passionate, resilient, and creative Teacher to join an Alternative Provision in Bradford, supporting young people who have experienced challenges in mainstream education.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work with learners who need a fresh start – offering them personalised support, consistency, and the belief that they can succeed.
The Role
As an AP Teacher, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning to small groups of pupils, often with diverse and complex needs. You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to create a safe, structured and supportive environment where every young person feels valued.
Your subject specialism is welcome – we particularly welcome applications from teachers with experience in core subjects (English, Maths, Science) or vocational/creative areas, though all backgrounds will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners
* Develop positive relationships that support students to regulate, engage and achieve
* Work closely with colleagues, families, and external agencies to provide support
* Model high expectations, consistency and a trauma-informed approach
What We’re Looking For
* QTS (strong ECTs also welcome to apply)
* Experience working in alternative, SEN, PRU, SEMH or similar settings (desirable)
* Strong understanding of the barriers to learning faced by AP students
* Flexible, calm and creative approach to teaching
* Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills in low-ratio settings
