The average day of an Assembly Operator is to manufacture Fluke product in line with provided standard work procedures. The operators will work in tandem with each other, sharing the workload within a production cell in order to achieve optimum productivity. In addition, operators will be a vital part of suggesting and implementing improvements to Fluke manufacturing processes through our internal improvement business system (FBS)
1. To fully assemble, test, calibrate, inspect and pack a range of Instruments across multiple manufacturing cells as required by the business.
2. Responsible to adherence to defined processes in assigned work area, including but not limited to; Standard Work Instructions, 5S Standards, Safe Systems of Work or Engineering Drawings.
3. As appropriate, to train fellow operatives on defined processes as requested by the relevant Production Team Leader.
4. Take part in the basic diagnosis and rework of Fluke product down to Assembly/Part level and escalate fault(s) to Technicians/Team Leaders as required.
5. Suggest and/or implement process/product improvements using the FBS (Fortive Business System) toolset in order to improve operating KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) such as Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Cost.
6. As required, partake in the creation, review and implementation of new procedures/work instructions, including suggesting improvements to currently issued procedures.
You will be part of a diverse, international team of approximately 40 people, who are well versed in the manufacture, test and repair of Fluke equipment.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. High Voltage/Live working experience would be a bonus. Soldering experience is a bonus.
PC Literacy including Microsoft Office A positive, can-do attitude
This role would be suited to someone who is keen to give the customers of Fluke the best quality product possible. This role also has plenty of room for personal and professional development such as cross training in different production cells, developing into a team leader/management position or into a technical calibration or manufacturing equipment technician role.
