Management Accountant Office based | Skelmersdale
The Opportunity: An established business operating in the supply chain and distribution sector is seeking a commercially focused Management Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to step into a varied and impactful role supporting operational and strategic decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyse weekly profit and loss statements to track financial performance
Deliver monthly management accounts with variance analysis and insightful commentary
Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
Conduct cost reviews, margin tracking, and financial performance analysis
Provide financial insight to support cross-functional teams and leadership
Continuously improve reporting tools, internal controls, and financial procedures
Work collaboratively with stakeholders across operations, finance, and commercial functions
Ideal Candidate Profile:
ACCA / CIMA / ACA qualified or working towards qualification
Prior experience in a management accounting or similar finance role
Strong analytical and Excel skills, with knowledge of financial systems
High attention to detail and a strong grasp of commercial drivers
Excellent communicator with a proactive, hands-on approach
