About the role Caterfood Buying Group is a collection of independent foodservice suppliers working together to offer both extensive product range, industry knowledge and geographical coverage. We have a new position for a Trading Assistant within the Caterfood Buying Group Trading Team. The Caterfood Buying Group (CFBG) Trading team are responsible for the day to day management of suppliers within the group, ensuring CFBG are working with the right suppliers for our members. Alongside this, negotiating group agreements in regards to commercial terms, fixed product listings and marketing execution with those suppliers. A Trading Assistant within the Central Team plays a pivotal role by supporting the wider trading team and Group Commercial director in the day to day trading functions. Flexible Working: The role is homebased with some travel & overnight stays required around the UK when visiting our members. Role Essentials Contribution toward the development and implementation of the CFBG Procurement strategy. A good knowledge and understanding of each individual CFBG member business obtained through regular member visits & regular contact with key members of each business. Regular communication to all group members regarding CFBG Central news & Supplier updates. Day to day management across all aspects of CFBG Suppliers. Strong interaction and relationships with supplier portfolio. Actively finding and engaging with new potential group suppliers. Income management; Logging, tracking, forecasting, reporting and revising where required. Who we’re looking for Experienced with product lifecycle ( Sourcing, Tendering, Launching, Monitoring, Benchmarking and Delisting ) A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role ( Within the Foodservice Industry advantageous ) Demonstrable experience of income management, commercial knowledge and accountability Successful in management of cross functional teams with the ability to drive performance Strong organisational skills Strong MS Excel skills (moderate) Strong analytical Skills Strong commercial acumen and tight financial control. Team focussed with the ability to achieve success through others. Flexible, pro-active, enthusiastic and positive approach. Ability to cope under pressure and prioritise demands. Tenacious and a natural problem solver – comfortable finding alternative ways to achieve the end goal. Focussed on root cause analysis to solve problems.
