Project Engineer - SolidWorks Permanent Full-Time
Salary - Circa £42,500 DOE
Location - In office at Kidderminster
We're excited to be supporting a leading manufacturer of high-performance filtration, separation, and pressure vessel equipment. Serving a wide range of industries including oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, and water treatment, the company combines precision manufacturing with deep technical expertise to deliver both bespoke and standardised solutions that meet stringent global standards and industry regulations.
They are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to deliver compliant, cost-effective design solutions while managing projects from handover through to completion. The role includes stakeholder coordination, product development using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, and mentoring junior team members.
Responsibilities, but are not limited to
Lead and support junior engineering staff, including draughtspersons and trainees, while liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders
Assist with the preparation of quotation drawings and technical documentation
Contribute to the development of new products and equipment, including standard 3D models and component libraries
Produce cost-effective, standardised design solutions, including general arrangement drawings, manufacturing drawings, technical specifications, and 3D models for estimation and layout
Ensure all designs meet Health & Safety standards and comply with relevant codes and legislation (e.g. ASME VIII, ASME B31.3, PED 2014/68/EU)
Perform design verification using engineering calculations and analysis tools such as FEA and CFD
Prepare accurate material requisitions, using standard components and referencing internal part numbers
Manage projects from sales handover to delivery, including task delegation, resource planning, and coordination with relevant departmentsExperiences required
Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Proficient in AutoCAD (2D) and SolidWorks (3D) or similar (e.g. Solid Edge, Inventor, Onshape, Fusion 360, CATIA, Creo)
Strong background in creating detailed fabrication drawings for manufacture (DFM)
Proven experience in pressure vessel design or similar, such as industrial heat exchangers
Familiarity with ASME pressure vessel codes (e.g. ASME VIII) preferred
Experience with FEA and CFD analysis tools is an advantage
Background in the Oil & Gas sector is desirablePackage
