Youth Justice Practitioner
We do social work are looking for a youth justice practitioner to start asap.
Main Priorities
Work within a multi-agency youth justice team to reduce offending behaviour and support young people’s rehabilitation and social inclusion.
Build strong relationships with young people, families, victims, and professionals to ensure effective communication.
Manage and respond to risks to young people and others, following agreed plans.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to meetings, reports, and service evaluations.
Support service continuity by covering duties across the team when required.
Key Duties
Carry out holistic assessments using youth justice tools.
Support and motivate young people to make positive choices and engage in constructive activities.
Provide guidance on issues such as mental health and substance misuse, including referrals.
Deliver intervention programmes (1:1 and group work) to address offending behaviour.
Support resettlement and maintain contact with young people in custody, contributing to release planning.
Liaise with courts and professionals to support legal processes and outcomes.
Develop tailored intervention plans based on assessed risk and need.
Provide practical support (e.g. housing, education, employment, finances, family support).
Work closely with families/carers, including home visits, using a whole-family approach.
Facilitate restorative justice processes and support victims, ensuring their voices are heard.
Build links with local agencies to improve access to services.
Carry out additional duties as required.
