About the Role
We are currently looking to recruit a full‑time enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join the Cambridge East Villages Community Rehabilitation Team based at Sawston Medical Practice, London Road, Sawston, Cambridge, CB22 3HU. The role is suitable for an experienced OT.
This position is based in the East Cambridge and surrounding area. The practitioner will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing high quality rehabilitation to patients with physical disabilities in their home environment.
Please note for this role you will be required to travel independently around the county meeting strict time deadlines, must hold a full UK driving licence and have use of a vehicle. Public transport is not permitted due to reliability concerns.
Responsibilities
* Assess, plan and develop specialist occupational therapist programmes for patients with a wide variety of complex needs.
* Manage own caseload, prioritising referrals according to clinical need, signposting appropriately and undertaking assessment of patients with complex and multiple pathologies using specialist clinical reasoning skills.
* Supervise junior staff and students, overseeing patient intervention and ensuring that Senior Therapy Assistants and Therapy Assistants deliver high quality patient care.
Qualifications & Skills
Required: Experience as an occupational therapist, ability to work autonomously within a community rehab team, strong specialist clinical reasoning skills, excellent communication skills, full UK driving licence and reliable vehicle. Must be able to travel independently around the county.
