Job Description The Senior Manager Risk Partner (Risk Strategy, Supervisory & Optimisation) plays a critical role in delivering Visa Europe’s 2030 Strategy by acting as a trusted second‑line risk advisor to key commercial and functional leaders. The role provides independent challenge, oversight, and strategic insight in line with the Three Lines of Defence model, ensuring risks are identified, managed, and escalated to support confident decision‑making and sustainable growth. Responsibilities include; Serve as Risk Advisor VEL for key business functions, collaborating across regions with VPs and SVPs—including Global Risk—to consistently execute and communicate the Visa 2030 strategy internally and to clients. Provide Visa Europe members and their business partners with authoritative intelligence to guide their risk mitigation efforts/investment decisions. Provide management information on specific threats. Form SVPs and VP relationships across VEL to develop an in-depth understanding of the business and functional risks. Provide recommendations to tailor the existing client lifecycle to meet specific risks associated Lead, manage and deliver multiple concurrent high visibility sensitive projects and direct time and resources (capacity planning) to achieve the best possible outcome. Develop awareness of the wider regulatory environment and key external developments for the new payments flow sector including any events that may require legal consideration, reg engagement or a change to Visa Rules. Write reports and proposals to key audiences, Risk Committee (ERC), Board Risk Committee (BRC) Regulators (e.g. Bank of England, ECB etc) outlining key progress/trends/findings emerging from due diligence activities and assurances Report to Risk leadership when required on relevant risk strategies. Ensure that senior executives within Visa have timely and accurate information on which to base decisions. This is a hybrid position.
