Overview
The role as a Mental Health Worker:
Your role as a Mental Health Worker will involve supporting the class teacher with general class duties and helping prepare lesson material. You will also support the students with their general workload and with their intervention plans designed to support their mental health needs. This will include providing one‑to‑one support, encouraging emotional regulation and assisting during lessons.
Primary Responsibilities
Your day as a Mental Health Worker will look like this:
* Support the students with their mental health, helping them to process and understand their emotions.
* Provide support in small groups or one‑to‑one.
* Work alongside the class teacher to create a safe and engaging learning environment where students can flourish and meet all their goals.
* Deescalate heightened emotions and help students regulate.
* Help the class teacher prepare lesson materials and keep the classroom tidy.
Qualifications
* Confident and compassionate with a positive personality.
* Proactive and takes initiative.
* Strong problem‑solving skills.
* Capable of deescalating heightened emotions.
* Enhanced DBS check or willingness to apply for one.
