Position Title
Mechanical Project Engineer
What you will be doing
Galliford Try has an opportunity for a Mechanical Project Engineer in our Normanton office. You will work with an enthusiastic team, assisting with the delivery of projects, predominantly in the Water Industry in sewage and clean water. Reporting to the project manager, you will work alongside the project delivery team to ensure the design, procurement, financial control and site activities are achieved.
* Outline engineering needs from inception to completion of projects, utilising in‑house resources, external consultants, site installation and managing construction personnel.
* Work closely with the design team to gather required information and participate in regular internal and external design reviews and Hazard Studies to develop solutions.
* Liaise with the site manager and site teams to ensure work is completed to programme, budget and quality.
* Participate in early site investigation works in coordination with the client, design, and project team.
* Produce and review health and safety documentation, taking a proactive approach to maintaining high standards of health and safety performance.
* Be involved in the procurement of materials and preparation of subcontract orders.
* Work with the team to develop and close out all contract documentation such as, “As built” drawings, Commissioning Manuals and Operation and Maintenance Manuals.
About you
* Have an industry applicable electrical ONC/HNC/B Eng or NVQ equivalent.
* Proven experience within the water industry necessary, desirable to have experience in chemical dosing.
* Proven negotiation skills to both internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
* Excellent communication skills, face to face and in an online capacity.
* Desire to understand and promote the Company purpose, vision, values and culture.
