Job Summary
The Coggeshall Eye Centre is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused optometrist to join our friendly and growing team. This part‑time position is for one day per week at our Coggeshall branch, with an optional additional day per month in Colchester if desired. Hours are typically 9:30 am to 5 pm and are flexible regarding the day worked.
Main Duties
You will work alongside an experienced resident Dispensing Optician in a well‑equipped, modern practice delivering a mix of NHS and private eye care.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive eye examinations including contact lens work and MECS
* Deliver excellent patient communication and care
* Work collaboratively with the Dispensing Optician and wider team
* Maintain accurate clinical records and comply with regulations
Person Specification – Essential Qualities
* A strong communicator, with good interpersonal skills
* Professional, reliable and patient‑focused
* Detail‑oriented, with the ability to maintain accurate patient records
* Capable of working independently within a small team
Qualifications & Registration
* GOC‑registered optometrist
* Current UK professional registration
* The post requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
