Maintenance Electrician (JR10004968) Stamford, England
Carry out maintenance and repair operations in accordance with the operational and maintenance plan/budget to improve operational reliability and availability of the plant and machinery at the lowest effective maintenance costs for all equipment, installations, and buildings on site.
Description of the main tasks
Provide electrical repair and maintenance skills, including fault analysis and identification to facilitate repairs and inspections. Implement improvements, install new equipment, and assist with small projects, adhering to the standards set by the site management team.
LV/HV Installations
* Design, install, and test in accordance with IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (2001 Edition)
* Work within the IEE Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment
* Operate within The Electricity at Work Regulations (1989) and the Quarry Regulations (1999), especially regarding inspection and testing regimes
* Perform fault level analysis and specify/set fuse sizes, feeder overcurrent, and transformer residual earth fault protection
* Inspect and test HV and LV switchgear, cable, and transformer systems
* Work according to technical standards set by the company
Drive Installations
* Install AC/DC motors, understanding machine operational parameters and duty types
* Work with slip ring and squirrel cage induction motors, including liquid starters and soft starts
* Possess working knowledge of variable speed drive technologies, inspection, setup, and repair
* Understand motor vibration analysis for roller and sleeve bearing systems
Instrumentation Systems
* Possess working knowledge of process instrumentation and calibration, e.g., load cells, level control devices, gas analyzers, PID controllers
Control and Safety Systems
* Understand The Provision Use Works Equipment Regulations (1992)
* Work with safety-critical control systems and interlocks (electrical [Pilz] and mechanical [Castel/Fortress])
* Where applicable, understand programming and fault rectification on PLC systems (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, Modicon) and associated SCADA systems
* Assist in the implementation and commissioning of capital projects
Additional Responsibilities
* Understand SAP PM
* Comply with company IMS procedures
* Liaise with supervisors on technical and safety issues
* Assist in developing a spare parts strategy to optimize plant operation
The role involves occasional weekend and night work, particularly during repairs, with flexible working hours as required.
Education/Qualifications
* Training in HV/LV systems
* City & Guilds certification
