Job overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Technician to join the Long‑Term Neurological Conditions Team. The role supports people with long‑term neurological conditions (e.g. MND, MS, Parkinson’s) in the community across the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
Main duties of the job
* Deliver a range of assessments and interventions in clients’ own homes and in clinic settings.
* Manage an independent community caseload, working flexibly and proactively to provide a prompt and clinically effective service.
* Develop knowledge, skills and experience in condition management and specialist posture and seating.
* Communicate effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
* Plan and organise workload, prioritise activities, and document progress in line with professional standards.
* Support and contribute to the occupational therapists’ service delivery across Gwent.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable, but an English and/or Welsh speaker is equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications & Knowledge
* GCSE level in Maths and English or equivalent.
* Evidence of a Level 3 qualification relevant to OT or equivalent accredited learning.
* Strong communication skills, in both written and verbal, to Level 3 standard.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
* Successful completion of the Diploma OT support.
Experience
* Experience working as an OT support worker or a support worker role in another field associated with OT.
* Experience working with people with a variety of support needs, including specific patient groups relevant to this role.
* Experience managing own time and prioritising activities.
* Evidence of self‑development through a CPD portfolio.
* Experience working effectively in teams.
Skills & Attributes
* Understanding the value base of occupational therapy.
* Ability to transfer knowledge across practical situations.
* Demonstrable interpersonal skills within individual and group situations.
* Experience coping with distressing or emotional situations.
