NHS Programme Manager – 6-month contract – Outside of IR35 – London

My NHS customer is seeking an experienced and motivated Programme Manager to lead and coordinate a portfolio of digital enablement and digital transformation initiatives across the organisation.

The role requires strong programme leadership, stakeholder management, demand management, and resource coordination skills, with responsibility for supporting teams delivering a diverse range of projects in a matrix management environment.

The Programme Manager will play a key role in ensuring digital opportunities are appropriately assessed, prioritised, governed, and delivered, whilst supporting the development of robust digital business cases and benefits realisation plans.

Experience required from the NHS Programme Manager:

• Significant experience delivering complex digital programmes or portfolios within the NHS
• Experience with Digital enablement projects
• Experience managing multiple teams that are managing different projects
• Experience working in a matrix management environment.
• Strong understanding of demand management, prioritisation and portfolio governance.
• Experience developing and reviewing digital business cases.
• Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent programme planning, risk management and reporting skills.

Key Responsibilities of the NHS Programme Manager:

• Lead and coordinate a portfolio of digital transformation and digital enablement projects.
• Manage programme governance, reporting, risks, dependencies and benefits.
• Oversee multidisciplinary teams working across multiple projects in a matrix management environment.
• Lead demand management processes, ensuring new requests are assessed, prioritised and aligned to strategic objectives.
• Support the development of digital business cases and investment proposals.
• Build effective relationships with senior stakeholders and delivery teams.
• Drive continuous improvement in programme delivery and portfolio management practices.
