Senior Project Manager – Sweco
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our PMO team within the Highways and Civil Structures Business Unit. Based in our Leeds office, the successful candidate will deliver projects across Northern England, including West Yorkshire and Teeside, and support our strategic road network, local roads and private development programmes.
Role Overview
The Senior Project Manager will lead the delivery of highways and active travel projects for local authority clients, working closely with multidisciplinary design teams to understand client needs and ensure successful outcomes. Responsibilities include managing the project lifecycle, monitoring financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities, liaising with stakeholders, and mentoring junior colleagues.
Responsibilities
 * Deliver tasks and projects in accordance with the project programme.
 * Monitor and report project financial performance.
 * Identify risks and opportunities.
 * Liaise with clients, regulators and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of project deliverables.
 * Manage and mentor colleagues.
Qualifications
 * Relevant post‑qualification highways experience and a successful record of project delivery.
 * Experience providing project governance on infrastructure projects.
 * Experience delivering multi‑disciplinary projects for local authority clients and/or projects with business cases.
 * Knowledge and understanding of NEC4 Professional Services Contract (PSC); NEC4 ECC Project Manager Accreditation desirable but not essential.
 * A relevant professional qualification (e.g. IEng, CEng or Chartered Project Professional).
 * Excellent time management and problem‑solving skills with ability to develop solutions.
 * Ability to gain insight beyond an immediate customer need to identify opportunities that benefit the customer through meaningful relationships.
