We're looking for a dedicated Network Controller to help ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of the NET tram network. In this critical role, you’ll work at the heart of operations, supporting the smooth running of services and playing a key part in keeping Nottingham moving efficiently and safely.
About the Role

The Network Controller is responsible for proactively monitoring and managing the tram network to ensure the safe and efficient operation of services at all times. This includes real-time incident response, effective communication with stakeholders, and ensuring an outstanding level of customer service.
You’ll be making real-time decisions that impact thousands of journeys every day. You'll join a safety-focused, collaborative team that values professionalism, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Your Role Will Focus On:
* Monitoring and managing real-time tram operations to ensure a safe, reliable service.
* Responding effectively to incidents and coordinating service recovery.
* Communicating clearly with tram drivers, customer service teams, and passengers.
* Using systems such as CCTV, AVLS, SCADA, and Agility to monitor and support network performance.
* Liaising with emergency services and key stakeholders during incidents.
* Providing accurate service updates via radio, phone, PAPIS, and text alerts.
* Maintaining detailed records and contributing to performance reporting.
* Upholding safety-critical standards and demonstrating customer-first thinking.
What We’re Looking For
We're looking for a professional, safety-conscious, and customer-focused individual who can thrive in a high-pressure, real-time environment. As a Network Controller, you’ll need to demonstrate flexibility, sound judgement, and strong communication skills.
Key Attributes & Skills:
* Ability to role model NET values: approachable, reliable, team-oriented, and committed to safety and service.
* Experience in control room, network operations and customer service, with a resilient and innovative approach to managing service disruptions. (or similar)
* Strong communication skills—confident in giving and receiving feedback and working across all levels of the business.
* Proactive mindset with a high degree of ownership and initiative.
* Effective at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic fast fast-paced environment.
* Commercial awareness with a customer-first focus.
Requirements:
* Relevant operational experience (ideally within a similar environment).
* Full UK driving licence.
* Current or previous tram driving competancy (or willingness to obtain and maintain it).
* Willingness to work shifts, including weekends.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development.
