Senior Community Mental Health Nurse – Dementia Older Person

Site: Bassett Unit, Town REDRUTH. Salary: £39,959 – £48,117 per annum.
Job Overview
We provide assessment and treatment to people living with dementia and older adults with functional mental health difficulties. The role is based at Longreach House, Redruth, working with the Cober DOPMH Team and visiting patients at home, care homes and supporting community health and social care teams.
Main Duties
The post holder will provide assessment, treatment and care coordination to two client groups:
- People living with dementia.
- Adults over 75 living with a range of mental health needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing a busy caseload within the Care Programme Approach.
- Working closely with statutory and non‑statutory agencies to develop and deliver personalised care.
- Providing clinical supervision to support staff.
- Coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams.
- Frequent travel across the county, including areas not served by public transport.
Only eligible to apply if currently employed within the NHS in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly (Cornwall Foundation Trust, Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board).

Qualifications
- NMC registration.
- Post‑graduate qualification or equivalent experience in psychological therapy (e.g., CBT).
Experience
- Substantial experience managing a busy caseload of dementia and frailty‑related mental health clients.
- Experience in providing clinical supervision.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary and multi‑agency environment.
