A Snapshot of Your Day
Join the Component Manufacturing Engineering team and help ensure a continued, reliable supply of parts for Siemens Energy’s aero-derivative gas turbine (AGT) fleet. You partner with colleagues, suppliers, and buyers to support part production, advise on manufacturing methods, and guide safety-critical components through qualification. You drive part and process qualification (PPQ) and Method Verification Approval, and you support the adoption of new manufacturing techniques to improve cost, efficiency, and manufacturability. You balance decisive technical leadership with compassionate supplier support to keep production steady and compliant.
How You’ll Make an Impact
1. You support AGT component production, collaborating across colleagues, partners, and suppliers on new and legacy parts.
2. You assess and select manufacturing methods and specifications, and guide special processes and inspection techniques.
3. You help suppliers meet technical and quality requirements for safety-critical parts, driving PPQ and Method Verification Approval.
4. You develop, evaluate, and adopt new manufacturing techniques to improve cost, efficiency, and manufacturability.
5. You run root cause investigations on new component manufacturing issues, and partner with procurement and buyers to enable informed sourcing decisions while promoting safety and compliance.
What You Bring
6. You have a degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in manufacturing engineering or a related discipline.
7. You bring several years as a practising manufacturing engineer in high-integrity component manufacturing.
8. You have hands-on experience with manufacturing validation.
9. You are skilled in inspection techniques and standards, including NDT methods.
10. You’re familiar with gas turbine materials and component design; aerospace/industrial gas turbine specs; recognised OEM suppliers (forging, casting, machining, coating, material processing); machining techniques, cost value engineering, and producing technical documentation. Travel to suppliers is practicable and highly desirable; you are willing to travel as needed.
