Overview
Cowes Town Council requires a part time Communications and Funding Manager.
* Location: Based at the Town Council Office, Northwood House, Cowes.
* Salary: NJC LC1 (Above Substantive) starting at SCP 13 (£15.06/hr) equating to a part-time equivalent salary of £23,494 pa, with progression available up to SCP 17 (£16.08/hr) equating to £25,085 pa. Pay award pending on all rates.
* Hours: Flexible - 30 per week
* Contract: Permanent
Responsibilities
* Act as the responsible manager for all Cowes Town Council public and internal communication channels, including content creation and management of all web services.
* Manage Town Council funding projects and external grant requests; take ownership of all communications and funding elements of relevant Town Council projects; support Town Councillors and the Town Clerk as directed.
* Attend a small number of evening meetings (current commitment 1-2 meetings per month). Attending these meetings will be deemed part of the role’s contracted hours.
Qualifications
* Track record of experience in similar equivalent roles with excellent communication management and interpersonal skills.
* Understanding of professional funding and grant management administration.
* Strong organisational skills with ideally a good understanding of local government processes and procedures.
* Knowledge of the necessary IT software applications needed to support role delivery (e.g., MS Office, web management (not development) applications) and willingness to undertake any training deemed necessary to support the role.
