The department supports the EMEA Global Markets and Investment Banking Sales teams and Nomura's UK and European booking entities. The team also works closely with regional peers across the globe to drive global consistency. The Entity Data Oversight team play a key role in helping to manage our counterparty data framework to ensure adherence to regulatory obligations, whilst also supporting our clients across several parts of the client lifecycle. You will join an established team, focusing on delivering a data model to support both onboarding efficiency & regulatory adherence along with exceptional client service. Role Description: The Entity Data Oversight team based in London provides oversight and governance of the offshore Entity Data team located in Powai, India. In this role you will govern the Entity Data team's processes, monitor performance, risks, and challenge and evolve our existing controls. The Overisght team also focus on the 'change the bank' strategy, targeting risk mitigation and cost reduction through process improvement and change initiatives. There will be a key focus on identifying control gaps, along with solutions for the business and enforcing Operational Standards effectively. The 'change the bank' scope also includes any regulatory or mandatory changes within the market. In this role you will need to be an SME of our Counterparty Data and represent Operations when partnering with Technology and Change functions. We are looking for an experienced Vice President, preferably with experience in Entity Data governance, but would consider candidates with a background in Operations more broadly. The candidate will need to build strong relationships both internally and externally to assist in driving enhancements to our operating model and have a proven track record of delivering initiatives to improve efficiency and controls. Responsibilities: The Client Service Group's Entity Data team is responsible for data maintenance, development and execution of architectures, establishing policies, practices and procedures to manage the Data/Information life cycle needs of the enterprise in an effective manner. Partnering with the Chief Data Office as a Business Data Coordinator to: o Maintain overall accountability for the quality of data under our remit and adherence to Group Data Management Policies. o Ensure that Data is governed in line with Nomura Data Ownership Model consisting of four key roles: Data Owner, Data Steward, Data Custodian and Data Consumer. o Ensure that we have accurate and reliable data as it is the key driver for our business operations from trade execution, regulatory adherence, through to trade and transaction reporting and settlement. Work with vendors & users to obtain more value from current products. Coordinate the implementation of data quality controls, analysis and remediation of data quality issues, and data lineage. Oversee the build out of Controls for Critical Data attributes. Manage relationships with business partners across Global Operations and Technology. Work closely with Onboarding, Regulatory and Technology teams to ensure systems, processes and procedures align to enable Data Quality. Review processes to identify opportunities to streamline, automate and improve operational efficiency and control. Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required: Proven experience within Operations, preferably within Entity Data or a Client Service Group / Onboarding function - minimum 7 years. Confident in communicating with internal and external clients and forging strong professional relationships with broad range of stakeholders. Ability to articulate key messages through all mediums. Understand risk and control framework and be able to escalate effectively. Thorough understandings of the regulatory environment. Ability to navigate complex data and hierarchy structures. Experience in handling large databases and strong SQL or query writing and programming skills, will be a benefit. Experience in using Data transformation and visualisation tools such as Snowflake, Alteryx and Power BI would be beneficial. A self-starter with strong attention to detail and an ability to multitask. Strong analytic skills and ability to learn quickly on new products and systems.
