About the Northumberland Care AcademyThe Care Academy plays a critical role in the social care workforce across Northumberland supporting recruitment, training, and retention of the people who care for our most vulnerable residents.
Main duties of the job
The Opportunity: Lead. Innovate. Influence.
As principal clinical authority for the Care Academy, you will be the architect of clinical training across the county. This is a senior-level platform to:
* Shape clinical strategy: Lead and influence the workforce clinical training programme and competency framework for all community services across Northumberland.
* Drive workforce innovation:Lead the implementation of change initiatives, evaluate new training models, and address health inequalities through education.
* Act as the expert voice:Provide authoritative clinical advice and direction to internal teams, NHS Trusts, universities, and external providers on complex clinical issues.
* Unify clinical standards:Work in partnership with multi-disciplinary teams to align clinical training and safeguarding across the County.
* Hold professional accountability:Ensure all training activity meets CQC regulations, NICE guidance, and the NMC Code.
* Manage resource strategically:Oversee the Academy budget, commission external training provision, and identify opportunities for income generation.

Qualifications
* About You
* We need a self-motivated catalyst, someone comfortable leading with authority, working across boundaries, and shaping outcomes.
* You will bring:
* - First level NMC Registered Nurse (Part 1 or 3) or equivalent registered AHP
* - Specialist clinical knowledge equivalent to Master's level, through experience or post-graduate study
* - Extensive post-registration experience in community, primary care, or social care settings
* - A recognised mentorship or teaching qualification or proven experience designing and delivering clinical training
* - Experience commissioning and managing external training provision and budgets
* - Outstanding communication skills the confidence to engage and influence senior clinicians and managers alike
* - A strategic mindset: ability to analyse complex workforce data and translate it into policy and commissioning decisions
* - A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle
