How We Will Work: Treat developers as clients, remove non-developer-centric tasks, build a knowledge base, support all communication styles, raise tickets when needed to track productivity, and use data to drive automation of pain points.
Primary duties
* Set up and configure bare metal, virtualized, and cloud infrastructure for business applications
* Help development teams onboard to modern CI/CD pipelines
* Improve availability, resilience, observability, maintainability, and security of applications using standard and bank-approved solutions
* Automate application releases, deployment, configuration, and other software development lifecycle aspects
* Enable connectivity between components in distributed networks
* Assist migrating and upgrading systems to newer infrastructure
Secondary duties
* Champion practical Information Security solutions
* Act as gatekeeper for remediation requests from IS teams; ensure accurate tracking, timely closure of false positives, and manage CAP proliferation
* Prioritize Checkmarx/Black Duck issues by actual risk to the firm
* Assist developers onboarding to lightweight security tooling pre-commit and in CI
* Ensure response times and reliability for security systems and data
* Streamline infrastructure processes and manage firewall requests predictably
* Collaborate with Unix and Windows SAs, DBAs, and other teams to improve service quality
* Establish and track SLAs with infrastructure teams
* Challenge processes that hinder developer productivity without compromising security
* Facilitate server ordering and cloud adoption; drive tooling improvements
* Support CTI, developer tools, and GIDA teams to automate internal processes
* Participate in automating painful manual processes and monitor key services (Bitbucket, Artifactory, JIRA, Confluence, uDeploy)
* Support partners in providing performant tools (Confluence, ServiceNow, JIRA, Artifactory, Bitbucket)
* Onboard to Citi-approved identity management solutions and educate developers accordingly
* Automate and drive APIs over processes
Qualifications
* Relevant experience in a developer role
* Unix/Linux system administration skills
* Strong networking knowledge with hands-on troubleshooting
* Scripting proficiency (bash, perl, python, PowerShell)
* Experience with Java build tools (Gradle/Maven) and databases (Oracle/PostgreSQL)
* Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines (Jenkins, TeamCity, Artifactory)
* Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, virtualization
* Good English (written and spoken)
* Willingness to tackle hard issues and work independently, multi-task, and own parts of projects
* Beneficial: ITIL basics, messaging middleware (Tibco, Solace, Kafka), any programming language (Java, Python, Go, etc.)
Education
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
