JOB TITLE: Warehouse Operative
DEPARTMENT: Warehouse
KEY POINTS: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexibility outside of this is required as there may be overtime and shift patterns to suit seasonal demand as and when needed.
JOB SUMMARY: We are looking for a highly motivated, willing to learn and enthusiastic individual to join our team at William Wood Designs LTD. The role involves working within a team, picking orders, maintaining the warehouse, unloading stock arrivals, loading vans, involvement in returns and repacks of orders and liaising with delivery drivers upon arriving and departing from the warehouse. The successful candidate will work within the warehouse team and will also maintain strong communication with others departments in order for the operation to run smoothly.
MAIN PURPOSES OF THE JOB:
* Ensuring all van loads are picked and ready for loading.
* Assisting the team in unloading arrivals of stock.
* Maintaining and clean and tidy warehouse, and ensuring stock is organised.
* Training in all areas of the warehouse will be provided to ensure knowledge is high.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Unloading containers.
* Unloading and loading vans.
* De-briefing drivers upon return and process the stock and data.
* Warehouse tidiness and cleanliness.
* Following warehouse procedures and protocols.
* Following health and safety regulations in place.
* Communicating with other departments where necessary.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
* Polite and courteous to other staff
* Physical fit for heavy lifting
* Good time-management skills.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
* Driving licence due to rural location unless you live within walking distance
DESIRED EXPERIENCE BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:
* Some experience in a warehouse operative role.
* Some health and safety knowledge.
