Job Description
As a Sustainability Manager, you will lead the delivery of environmental and social initiatives for the contract. You will monitor performance, analyse data, provide guidance to teams, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation. You will work across multiple sites, with regular travel expected, particularly during the early stages of the role as relationships are established.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and manage sustainability activity across the contract.
2. Track, analyse and report on sustainability performance.
3. Coordinate and support sustainability projects such as waste reduction or biodiversity initiatives.
4. Work closely with client and internal teams to embed sustainability in operations.
5. Identify opportunities to align client objectives with organisational strategy.
6. Provide training and guidance to contract teams on sustainability processes.
7. Ensure compliance with environmental and social legislation.
8. Present data in a clear way to show progress and identify risks or opportunities.
9. Share best practice across teams to support consistency.
10. Support delivery of contract targets including KPIs and social value commitments.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
11. Strong understanding of sustainability topics including environmental systems, carbon reporting and waste data.
12. Experience supporting sustainability within FM, government or public sector environments.
13. Good knowledge of sustainability legislation and reporting frameworks.
14. Understanding of Social Value, TOMs and the Social Value Model.
15. Ability to analyse sustainability data and produce routine reports.
16. Confidence engaging and collaborating with clients.
17. Strong organisational and communication skills.
18. Full UK driving licence.
19. Ability to travel regularly to multiple client sites.
20. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
