SENIOR CAPITAL PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST As the Senior Capital Procurement Specialist, you are responsible for tactical sourcing & contracts management. Ensuring that site-specific capital projects sourcing & contracts management requirements are executed on time, while minimising contractual risk and negotiating cost benefits in the process. GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY: Acts as the lead for capital project procurement needs and requirements. Reviews potential suppliers, coordinating site visits to evaluate supplier capability with technical peers. Collaborates with operational procurement to identify and exploit synergies. Prepares tender/enquiry documents, evaluations, contract award recommendations, single/sole source motivations, contract documentation, and amendments. Solicits single/sole source proposals, competitive tenders, and negotiates contracts. Coordinates and undertakes the full TECNAR process - Tender Evaluation, Clarification, Negotiation, Adjudication & Recommendation. Ensures effective contracts administration to minimize cost and time overruns, including risk mitigation. Deals with contractor claims to minimize costs. Manages payment terms beneficial to Copper Africa. Considers recommendations from the Supply Chain Sustainability function for capable ESD suppliers. Maintains all tender and contract documentation for reference and audit purposes. Ensures contracts meet pertinent legal contractual requirements. Places contracts and orders with approved suppliers, facilitates supplier onboarding when required. Implements the use of framework agreements on projects. Administers the Contracts Register. Ensures adherence to Copper Africa and site-specific supply chain & procurement policies and procedures. Ensures that in all sourcing actions, Copper Africa's standard of ethical conduct is adhered to. Expedites orders placed and follows up on outstanding order deliveries and/or services, taking appropriate remedial action when necessary. Maintains accurate records and receives pertinent documentation for safekeeping. Provides progress reports on sourcing and contracts execution activities. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Business administration, BSc in Engineering, Bachelor of Commerce in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field; and/or Three-year diploma in Engineering, Commercial or related field; and/ or Alternative technical certification in supply chain, project management (PMI, PMBok, Prince 2) WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in sourcing, contracts management and procurement, with a focus on capital projects and or technical buying or similar activities. Demonstrated experience in capital projects within mining, O&G or other heavy industry. Proven track record of successful procurement management, including RFQ processes and P2P activities. Familiarity with supplier evaluation, site visits, and coordination with technical teams. Strong understanding of procurement documentation preparation, including RFQs and purchase orders. Experience in handling supplier queries and addressing issues effectively. Knowledge of Enterprise and Supplier Development considerations and integration into procurement processes. Experience working in Africa / DRC and other complex environments would be beneficial. Ablity to travel to Africa.
