About the role: To fulfil your role, you will be expected to work in different commercial catering working areas at St. John’s College. Also, to work in different areas within Cambridge Regional College-Cambridge Campus (CRC-CC) including the training kitchen. This role will require you to work face-to-face with our SEN students at the commercial catering premises of St. John’s College and the premises within Cambridge Regional College including the training kitchen. You will report to your Assistant Head of Department. This role does not include line-management responsibilities. Responsibilities You will be responsible for delivering practical catering sessions for students with moderate learning difficulties independently to develop their skills in employability and skills for life at St. John’s College. You will receive a training on the matter. Furthermore, you will be supporting students’ learning in theory lessons also deliver lessons based on given lesson plans and resources when required at CRC-Cambridge Campus. What we are looking for in our role: The successful candidate will need to have a positive outlook and a can-do approach as well as excellent communication skills and being able to adapt and be flexible at short notice. The candidate should have a strong sense of teamwork, good problem-solving skills and be helpful and understanding towards the students and colleagues. Qualifications We are looking for a reliable and responsible applicant who holds a minimum of L2 chef qualification or/and has a minimum of 6 months experience in working at commercial catering environment including the kitchen. Who has gained, working towards or willing to complete the L3 Award in Education and Training qualification and committed to strictly follow the Health and Safety and Food Hygiene and Safety rules/policies while working with students. The preferred applicant has the minimum of L2 standard in maths and English and previous experience in working with SEND students. We will expect you to undertake and maintain the L2 Food Hygiene and Safety certificate that is an essential requirement while working in commercial catering environment.
