The Accessibility Manager leads activities designed to prevent digital barriers to customer engagement, developing and implementing best practices and guidelines on web content and an inclusive approach throughout the end-to end user journey, delivering a digital experience that is genuinely inclusive for all.
Role Accountabilities
1. Operates as an accessibility specialist for the digital teams and provide advice on accepted accessibility standards
2. Manages projects aimed at making applications and systems compliant with accessibility best practices and legislation on accessibility, within a cross functional program ensuring high levels of inclusivity and great customer experience
3. Drives accessibility compliance strategy across multiple Product Teams
4. Manages the work for automated and manual accessibility testing team
5. Develops and implements accessibility best practices and inclusive user experience principles with agile and design ops principles
6. Drives accessibility and inclusive user experience with key stakeholders and develops an accessibility community
7. Manages a team of accessibility professionals, recruiting broad skilled multi-disciplinary designers with strong expertise in agile practices and methods applicable to user centred design, taking responsibility for objective setting and upskilling and development
8. Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in digital accessibility
9. Implements continuous improvement opportunities to improve the digital accessibility team processes, ensuring a consistent and coherent process to manage services quality and collaboration across squads through coaching and personal development
Experience required
10. Experience working as Project or Accessibility Manager for WCAG compliant Products end-to-end development
11. Experience working as Accessibility Specialist performing accessibility audits, developing accessibility documentation for new features development and actively collaborating with the UI/UX Team
12. Expert knowledge of assistive technologies and testing tools like NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, Talkback, axe, WAWE, Accessibility Insights for Web and others.
13. Expert knowledge of WCAG standard (2.0/2.1/2.2), Section 508.
14. Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
15. Proficient skills in Project Managment, Problem solving and Strategic thinking
16. Accessibility Support training and mentoring programs compilation and execution
17. Strong desion making skills
