Responsibilities
As an Associate in the Fund Finance Origination team, you will be pivotal in driving the execution of financings throughout the full lifecycle of a fund. You will work closely with senior originators as part of the coverage team for our private equity, secondaries, private credit, real estate, and infrastructure clients. You will also interact with other teams within the Capital Solutions Group such as Hedging and, as well as M&A teams. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Client Engagement: Contributing to the origination and coverage efforts for a diverse portfolio of private markets clients. This includes prospecting of new clients, as well as ongoing management of existing client relationships.
2. Transaction Execution: Quarterbacking the deal process both internally and externally, ensuring seamless coordination and execution.
3. Stakeholder Coordination: Effectively managing relationships and processes with a variety of GS teams including legal, KYC, structuring, and execution teams, as well as maintaining ongoing management of the Borrower experience.
4. Structuring & Innovation: Leveraging your experience in structuring and executing transactions to facilitate the underwrite of deals and innovative solutions for Clients.
Qualifications
We are looking for a proactive and experienced professional with a strong understanding of fund finance and secured lending principles. Top candidates will possess:
5. Experience: 3+ years of relevant work experience in lending, underwriting, credit, or portfolio management, with a solid foundational understanding of Fund Finance.
6. Excellentmunication skills and a proactivemitment to teamwork and client service. Proactivity and a solutions-oriented mindset are a must.
7. Financial Acumen: Strong knowledge of financial accounting, financial analysis, and the principles of secured lending.
8. Market Understanding: Understanding of the legal structures and documents involved in private markets' investment funds, coupled with an awareness of the risks associated with lending to those funds.
9. Project Management: Proven transaction and project management skills, specifically experience managing fund finance transactions.
10. Technical Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Office skillset (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
