The Role: Tool Change Setter/Fitter (Injection & Blow Moulding)
Hours of Work: 2pm – 10pm Monday to Friday
The Role/Key Responsibilities:
Mergon UK are looking for a Tool Change Setter & Fitter to join our team in Blackburn. The role will involve:
* Carrying out tool changes on blow and injection moulding machines in line with setting sheets and defined target times
* Preparing all secondary equipment required for production and ensuring correct operation
* Completing all tool change paperwork accurately and on time
* Identifying and reporting defects with mould tools, dyes, secondary equipment or machinery
* Supporting basic equipment maintenance (e.g. granulators and power packs) when required
* Returning tools and dyes to the toolroom and maintaining excellent housekeeping and safety standards
To be successful in this role, you will likely have:
* FLT driving qualification
* Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
* Experience completing tool and dye changes on injection and blow moulding machines, with the ability to follow structured setting documentation
* The ability to work under pressure to meet time targets and be able to adapt quickly to unplanned priorities
* Lifting and slinging experience
* A proactive approach to problem solving, health and safety, and continuous improvement
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* A willingness to undertake any necessary training to fulfil the duties of the role
KPI's/Success within the first year:
* Achieve and improve on all standard tool change target times without compromising safety
* Contribute to reduced changeover times and increased machine uptime
* All tool change paperwork completed accurately
* Demonstrate good understanding of all moulding machines and associated equipment
* Be confident supporting the Engineering team with basic maintenance
