Pharmacy Dispensary Supervisor

Weare currently recruiting a pharmacy supervisor and welcome applications with adispensing and checking qualification NVQ level 2
This is a newrole and an exciting opportunity for a dispenser to join our experienced teamand progress to a supervisory role within the dispensary setting. You will berequired to support the dispensary manager and the deputy manager for thesmooth running of a hospital inpatient dispensary. You will also work with thepharmacy education team to support the training of band 3 dispensers; dispensersto become accredited accuracy checkers; apprentices and pharmacy undergraduatestudents working in the dispensary. You will join our rotational team ofdispensary staff working across Sunderland and South Tyneside Foundation Trusteither in the Inpatient dispensaries (Sunderland Royal Hospitals, SouthTyneside or Sunderland Eye Infirmary) or out-patient dispensaries owned by ourpartner organisation CHoICE Ltd. This is a great opportunity for a pharmacydispenser to progress and be part of a dedicated team of staff committed to thehigh-quality service delivery. We operate a 7-day service (including bank holidays)and you will be expected to part of a rota to include late night and weekendduty.
Main duties of the job
The Trust hasinvested in modern pharmaceutical facilities including full electronicprescribing with decision support, automated dispensaries and extensive 7-dayclinical services to enhance the patients experience of care by improving thequality, safety and effectiveness of their medicines utilisation. We work inconjunction with the pharmacy education team, and we assist with training ofnew staff which you would be expected to undertake as part of your new role.
Candidateshould have achieved NVQ LEVEL 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy services and accreditedchecking qualification is essential.
This post isrotational including South Tyneside and Sunderland Outpatient pharmacies and candidateswould be expected to be part of a late night, weekend and bank holiday rotas.
You should beadaptable, methodical and have excellent communication and time keeping skills.You must be able to work well within the team and also have the ability to workon your own initiative to deliver excellent patient care.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will support the dispensaries supervisor/managers by proactively coordinating and managing the flow of work through dispensary services.
To oversee the training of new staff, apprentices and dispensing induction.Be an accredited Accuracy Checking Assistant, releasing dispensed/issued itemsdirectly to patients and healthcare professionals in accordance with local training andpolicies. To support existing staff who are completing additional courses, for exampleaccredited checking course. To assist in the dispensing of prescriptions for inpatients, discharged outpatients andaid the supply of medicines to wards and other departments. To contribute to ongoing continuous improvement and development of dispensaryservices To dispense and where appropriate check prescriptions for inpatients, discharges oroutpatients across STSFT, in line with procedure and standard practice. Be part of the wider in-patient dispensary team across STSFT and contribute to theprovision of an efficient and effective dispensary service. To assist in the replenishment of medicine supplies to wards and other departments. To participate in rotas covering evenings, weekend, and bank holidays. To undertakeother reasonable duties to meeting the needs of the service as directed by theAssociate Chief Pharmacist (Operational services) To demonstrate the Trusts core behaviours in delivering a quality service to internaland external customers.
