As an Initial Risk Underwriter in our Retail Protection team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive the right cover, tailored to their needs. 1. Reviewing customer applications to assess life and disability risks
2. Deciding on policy terms based on autonomy level and risk factors
3. Requesting further information where necessary to support underwriting decisions
4. Communicating professionally with customers, colleagues and third parties
5. Recording work accurately to support effective decision-making
6. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regulatory and legislative requirements
7. Supporting complaint handling by identifying and escalating issues appropriately
8. Ensuring customer expectations are met throughout the application journey
QualificationsWho we're looking for:
9. Understanding of risk factors related to mortality and morbidity
10. Basic knowledge of protection products such as Life, Critical Illness and Income Protection
11. Awareness of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
12. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise workload
13. Strong written and verbal communication skills across various platforms
14. Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes
15. Ability to assess applications holistically and make balanced decisions
16. Commitment to delivering excellent customer service and outcomes
