Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and oversee all aspects of food production and culinary excellence. Responsibilities
* Supervise and manage the kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
* Oversee food preparation, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
* Develop and implement menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
* Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance.
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Monitor inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to maintain efficient operations.
* Manage food production processes to optimise efficiency without compromising quality.
* Stock control and ordering.
* All administration associated with running the kitchen including recruitment.
* Overseeing and taking responsibility for the allergens matrix and associated menus.
* Training kitchen staff to understand the need to prepare dishes for guests with allergens separately and carefully.
* Liaising with the GM to ensure that all staff are allergen trained.
* Working closely with the GM and Senior Management Team to ensure transparent and clear operating systems.
Experience
* Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting is essential.
* Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
* Clear and concise dialogue with both the kitchen team and the GM is essential.
* Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
* Extensive knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
* Culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are highly desirable.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
