The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Commercial Manager to join their order-winning team and take end-to-end ownership of complex bid activities. Reporting to the Senior Bid Manager, the role is central to shaping commercial strategy, supporting sales teams, and successfully converting opportunities into awarded contracts.
This position suits a commercially astute professional who can develop pragmatic, innovative solutions while effectively identifying and managing risk.

Key Responsibilities
Lead cross-functional bid teams, collaborating with Sales, Legal, Finance, Procurement, and Technical functions
Develop and execute commercial strategies for project and aftermarket opportunities
Identify, evaluate, and manage commercial, contractual, and financial risks in line with governance requirements
Review, draft, and negotiate contractual terms and conditions, providing clear recommendations to senior stakeholders
Provide commercial input into pricing strategies, cost models, and financial assessments
Support a smooth transition from bid phase to delivery through effective contract handover
About You
Essential:
Strong commercial acumen with experience of complex contractual terms, including FARs/DFARs and UK/US export controls
Ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
Capability to understand technical product offerings and bid documentation
Strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-focused mindset
Highly self-motivated with the ability to lead across matrix environments
Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills
Desirable:
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Experience reviewing and negotiating contracts within oil & gas, power generation, or energy sectors
Background in commercial, sales, customer service, engineering, or technical product sales
