Taylormade Employment are seeking an experienced Yard Supervisor specialising in Telehandler operations to oversee daily yard activities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing equipment, supervising staff, and ensuring safety and efficiency across all yard operations.
This role requires a strong understanding of telehandler handling, loading and unloading vehicles with large polyethylene pipe and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Prior telehandler experience is necessary.
The Yard Supervisor will play a vital role in maintaining smooth workflow and upholding safety standards within the yard.
Responsibilities
• Oversee and coordinate the picking, packing, and preparation of products for dispatch in line with customer delivery requirements.
• Liaise with the Stock Controller to ensure all daily tasks are shared out with Telehandler Operatives.
• Manage daily workload distribution and guide Telehandler Operatives, supporting their development and efficiency.
• Serve as the primary contact for safe vehicle loading and unloading.
• Ensure effective organisation, storage, and stock location within the yard.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and safety across all yard operations.
• Provide hands-on support where needed to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Processing and managing stock locations of new production product.
• The up most care by the Yard Supervisor and their team to eliminate product damage at all times.
• Enforce health and safety regulations to minimise risks and promote a safe working environment for all personnel.
Requirements
• Proven experience operating telehandlers in a commercial setting.
• Valid licence for commercial driving; experience with lorry or similar vehicles is advantageous.
• Demonstrable experience supervising yard or construction site operations.
• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in managing equipment and personnel.
• Good communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and other departments.
