As the Graham business grows and develops, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Section Engineer to work on a major Highways development in Oxfordshire.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will have a wide and varied remit making full use of their experience and skills, to support the construction phase of the project.
Responsibilities
* Undertake the management and mentoring of Site Engineers.
* Provide technical support and guidance to site workers and site engineers.
* Regularly check and monitor setting out compliance with site engineers.
* Support the Site Agent in driving forward the construction phase of the project.
* Liaise with the Site Agent, Project Manager and others to manage, control and allocate project resources.
* Compile and review work package plans and other management plans.
* Report and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts promptly and effectively.
* Monitor and report on contractual requirements and progress.
* Manage site documentation and maintain accurate records.
* Ensure effective communication and collaboration between all project stakeholders.
* Assist in the preparation of project budgets and cost estimates.
* Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies as required.
* Communicate with commercial staff to ensure records are prepared in a timely fashion.
* Ensure all Health and Safety procedures are being complied with.
* Participate in project meetings and provide updates on section progress.
* Compile daily activity briefings and complete site diary as required.
* Assist in managing Quality and Environmental plans on site.
* Ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications.
* Work to the Graham IMS and promote a Safety Culture with the entire site team.

Technical Competencies
* Essential: Strong Work Ethic
* Essential: Demonstrate previous experience in a similar role
* Essential: Demonstrate strong communication skills
* Essential: Technically Competent
* Essential: Basic Knowledge of NEC
* Essential: HNC or higher in Civil Engineering
* Desirable: Experience working on Highway Schemes
* Desirable: Experience managing one site or a section of a larger site
* Desirable: Strong planning skills
* Desirable: CPCS Appointed Person for Lifting trained
* Desirable: Temporary Works Coordinator trained
* Desirable: Proficient in AutoCAD

* Essential: Understand duties and responsibilities with regards to current Health & Safety / CDM legislation
