Civil Engineer / Inspector\n£38.50 per hour (outside IR35) + average working week 45-55hrs + competitive overtime rates + travel time + other expenses + long-term, site-based contract work (min 12months & rolling)\nCivil Engineer / Inspector responsibilities include:\n * Carry out inspections on a variety of structures.\n * Complete technical reports and offer expert advice.\n * Design audits of whole or elements of projects.\n * Technical responsibility; Drawing checking.\n * Meeting attendance.\n * Day-to-day running of projects.\n * Keep up to date with developments in civil and structural engineering standards.\n * Must have good communication skills in order to have interaction with clients and other design team members.\n * Willingness to travel.\nCivil Engineer / Inspector profile:\n * Civil Engineering, Structural or Surveying Degree or HNC/HND.\n * Member of a professional institution, ICE or IStructE.\n * Previous SC clearance or must be eligible, having worked in the UK for the last 5yrs and be a British Citizen.\n * A strong technical background, and the ability to demonstrate professional competency in structural engineering.\n * 10yrs experience working on a wide range of projects encompassing superstructures and substructures.\n * 5yrs experience in structural inspections / appraisals.\n * Strong experience in civil and structural engineering.\n * Good communication skills and ability to write technical reports.\n * Detailed knowledge of relevant design codes.\n * Ability to work in a team, giving guidance and support and training as and when necessary.\nIf the above Civil Engineer / Inspector contract looks of interest, then please get in touch and one of our consultants will contact you
