*About:*VAL's Community are an inclusive, supportive and rewarding organisation who provide care and education for children and young people with Learning Disabilities and associated health and social conditions.Our *SHINE*values underpin both what we believe and how we behave, creating a pathway for children and young people to excel:* *S*AFE - We create a safe and supportive environment where children feel secure and able to thrive.* *H*APPY - We make learning enjoyable, helping children feel settled, curious and engaged with what they are doing.* *I*ncluded - We foster a strong sense of belonging, ensuring every child feels included and able to take part in the school community.* *N*urtured-We build trusting relationships with every child, offering consistent encouragement so they develop the confidence to learn, grow and believe in themselves.* *E*mpowered - We encourage independence, helping children make choices, develop their voice and take pride in their progress.*Overall Objective:*Responsible for the orderly and continual operation and development of the school.Seek to enhance educational standards by effective use of the National Curriculum together with the individual abilities of our students who will have complex learning difficulties and low function autism.Create effective working relationships among staff groups, within education and across into the care home.*Key Tasks & Responsibilities*· To ensure the school offers an outstanding experience to all students, including a personalised curriculum, high quality Teaching & Learning and effective pastoral wraparound which would allow our students to make exceptional progress against their starting points.· To ensure compliance with Independent School Standards and OFSTED standards.· To support the Hean Teacher with maintaining the Single Central Register for the school.· To lead on the creation, implementation and delivery the Self-Evaluation Form (SEF) and School Improvement Plan (SIP).· To be responsible for the Line Management and Performance Management of Teachers and Higher Level Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistants / Teaching Assistants.· To undertake formal observations of all teachers and carry out supervisions/appraisals on all school staff.· Monitor and oversee all elements of staff roles within the school, to ensure effective use of staff skills.· To liaise regularly with the Principal / Registered Manager with regards to the extended learning opportunities, individual student programmes/timetables and whole school target setting.· To monitor and further develop whole school timetables to ensure that the curriculum on offer meets each student’s need.· To ensure that the school environment is appropriate and sensitive to the needs of the students, including equipment and resource risk assessments, auditing accident books, behavioural incident investigations, fire checks etc.· To ensure the school day compliments the development, implementation and monitoring of individual students support & curriculum plans.*Responsible to:* Head Teacher*Working hours:* 37.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year*Qualifications & Training: *·* Qualified teacher status (QTS)* A degree-level qualification or equivalent.* Further relevant professional and/or academic study and evidence of CPD.*Please note* all job offers are subject to safer recruitment checks, DBS clearance and medical clearance.
