Overview
I’m currently partnered with a fast-growing engineering business in Broughton who are seeking multiple Mechanical Technicians and Electrical Technicians to join their team, working on bespoke lifting and material handling equipment as part of a project for a high profile client with a global brand. The role will initially be on a contract basis until April 2026 with the potential view to turn permanent in or beyond that time frame.
Role details
Shift Pattern: Days (Flexible start & finish times). Rate: 35,000 - 40,000 pa (negotiable). Start Date: As soon as possible.
Responsibilities
* Visual inspection of incoming components and parts.
* Fit and assemble components following detailed engineering drawings and build instructions.
* Conduct mechanical and/or electrical checks to ensure correct functionality.
* Work collaboratively or alongside lead technicians and engineers to integrate PLC systems.
* Maintain accurate records of assembly and testing procedures.
* Adhere to health and safety standards and company procedures at all times.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.
Required Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in mechanical assembly or electrical wiring, ideally within an engineering or industrial environment.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
* For the electrical roles, familiarity with wiring and electrical installation (ideally holding 17 th / 18 th edition)
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Good manual dexterity and physical fitness for hands-on work.
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field
* Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Forklift or overhead crane operation certification.
