Job Description
We are looking for an experienced worker that is skilled with working with young people between the ages of 16-18 years with challenging behaviour. The role will be to provide high-quality support, care, and guidance to children and young people living in supported housing. The role promotes safety, stability, and personal development, enabling each young person to build the skills and confidence needed for greater independence and well-being.
Person Specification
Essential:
* Experience working with children or young people in a care or support setting.
* Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
* Ability to build trusting, professional relationships.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to remain calm and respond effectively to challenging situations.
* Basic IT skills (record-keeping, email, etc.).
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Desirable:
* Relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care - Children and Young People).
* Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches.
* Experience supporting young people with complex needs (e.g., mental health, substance misuse).
Additional Information
* This role requires an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
* Shift work, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins, may be required.
