Job Title: IT Service Desk Engineer
Location: Seaford, BN25 1LS
Salary: £24,000 - £29,000 per year based on experience
Job Type: Full time, Permanent
This is an office-based role. You will be required to commute to the office each day. Once probation has been passed this can be reviewed at the directors’ discretion. Candidates must live within a commutable distance from Seaford BN25 1LS to be considered for the role.
Primary Responsibilities
* Respond to IT support requests logged in the helpdesk system, return calls to customers, engage directly, respond to tickets, and use remote support when necessary. Interact with customers professionally and comply with SLAs.
* Set up new users in Active Directory, Entra and Microsoft 365.
* VOIP phone setup and configuration (training provided).
* Document and log all inquiries in the helpdesk system, update and prioritise each ticket.
* Resolve first and second-line tickets; escalate to senior engineers as needed.
* Maintain adherence to high service standards and quality benchmarks.
* Demonstrate exemplary communication and time-management skills.
* Operate both independently and as part of a team.
* Provide training and mentoring to staff and clients when needed.
* Perform device setup, repair, and upgrade tasks in the workshop.
* Conduct routine system inspections, apply updates and patches.
* Review backup logs and address any failures proactively.
* Assist with larger projects as required.
* Report directly to the Service Desk Manager.
What We Are After
* Minimum of 2 years' and recent experience in IT support roles
* A logical thinker who works well in a team and wants to excel in an IT support role
* Microsoft Windows Servers (including Active Directory, Group Policies, DHCP, DNS, etc.)
* Windows and Mac operating systems
* Microsoft 365 Services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive
* Microsoft Azure/Entra
* Virtualisation technologies
* VOIP experience
* Excellent communicator and client liaison
Relevant certificates or qualifications and experience in an MSP environment are desirable. A clear DBS check will be required before employment starts.
