About Us:
FLI Water is a leading provider of innovative water and wastewater treatment solutions across the UK. We’re expanding — and we’re looking for a talented Commercial Lead to join our team and help deliver high-impact projects that exceed environmental and regulatory standards.
The Role:
As Commercial Lead, you’ll be responsible for managing all costs and values related to wastewater projects — from initial contract negotiations to final project accounts. You’ll develop and implement commercial strategies, drive sales growth, and manage key customer relationships to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead commercial strategy across multiple wastewater projects
• Manage and administer contracts throughout project lifecycle (typically NEC 4)
• Lead the team in:
- Managing project budgets, forecasting, cost control, and cash flow
- Compile cost-to-complete schedules and monthly cost value reports
• Prepare subcontract orders and review terms to mitigate risk
• Identify and quantify risks and opportunities on margin outturns
• Support tender processes and challenge contract terms
• Mentor and develop the commercial team
• Maintain strong customer relationships and manage expectations
Requirements:
• Degree or HNC/HND in a relevant subject
• 10+ years’ experience in commercial project management
• Chartered status preferred
• Strong understanding of NEC 4 and other contract forms (JCT, ICE)
• Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills
• Full UK driving licence
