Overview
We are looking for an ambitious and strategic Community Safety Manager to lead our Community Safety Partnership and drive real impact across our neighbourhoods. Reporting to the Head of Neighbourhoods, this is a senior leadership role with responsibility for shaping and delivering our community safety priorities. You will lead the Community Safety Partnership, oversee CCTV operations and manage our Warden service, ensuring visible, intelligence‑led and partnership‑driven responses to crime and antisocial behaviour. This role is about more than operations. It’s about leadership, influence and delivery. A degree level qualification in a related field and/or significant relevant experience is required.
Responsibilities
* Lead the Community Safety Partnership and statutory responsibilities.
* Help set strategic direction to reduce crime and antisocial behaviour.
* Oversee CCTV and Warden services to ensure high performance and public confidence.
* Work closely with elected members, Police, Fire, Health and Housing.
* Use data and insight and work with Neighbourhood Managers to target resources where they matter most.
* Support the Head of Neighbourhoods in shaping safer, stronger communities across Middlesbrough.
Qualifications
* Proven leader in community safety or a related field.
* Strong partnership and influencing skills.
* Experience managing frontline services.
* Strategic thinking with a pragmatic, delivery‑focused approach.
* Confidence operating at senior level.
