CB’s Support Role – Make a Real Difference

Join me in living a full and joyful life! I’m a young woman with learning disabilities and complex health needs, including epilepsy, so experience in these areas is essential. I’m looking for someone calm, upbeat, and trustworthy to support me in doing the things I love.

You’ll help me communicate using Makaton and picture cards, and support me with personal care. I enjoy music (especially Bob Marley!), laughter, and good company—but I also value quiet time at home. If you’re reliable, caring, and ready to be part of a supportive team, I’d love to meet you.

AH’s Support Role – Active, Rewarding, and Varied

AH is a lively individual with limited communication who thrives with a consistent, patient team. He uses some Makaton and benefits from calm, clear communication and gentle redirection.

This is a hands-on, active role—perfect for someone physically fit and confident behind the wheel. You’ll support AH through a busy weekly schedule including farm work, arts and crafts, hydrotherapy, and gardening. Experience with learning disabilities is essential, as is a positive, can-do attitude.

Essential Criteria

To be considered for this position, you will demonstrate exposure to the following areas of expertise:

1. Hold a level 4 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or willingness to undertake.
2. Statutory guidance & CQC regulations exposure.
3. Complex health needs, learning disabilities, autism and sight loss.
4. Managing, assessing new people to support and mentoring experience.
5. Resilient, calm and able to work under pressure.
6. Effective verbal and written communication and able to produce written reports.
7. Hold a full UK driving license.

8. Management Responsibilities: As a Deputy Manager, you will assist the service manager to ensure that everyone receives high quality support, the people we support and the team supporting them. These will include rota management, staff supervisions, training new team members, leading, and supporting the team to complete support plans and risk assessments.
9. Partnership Working: Primarily with the people you support, their families and our specialist support teams as well as external agencies, you will champion skilful interactions, person-centred planning and partnership working.
10. Creativity and Planning: Planning and implementing professionally designed support plans that genuinely improve the quality of everyday life. You will demonstrate sound judgment and creative solutions.
11. Daily Care & Support: Helping with personal care, meal preparation, medication, and other daily tasks.
12. Building Relationships: Getting to know the people you support, understanding their needs, and helping them live life on their own terms.
13. Empowering Independence: Assisting with personal goals, from daily activities to long-term aspirations, and encouraging creative exploration.
14. Social Engagement: Supporting activities like holiday’s, social events, and hobbies, ensuring everyone could enjoy what they love doing.
